To type directly with the computer keyboard:

• Type bh, dh, yh, nh, and ny for ɓ, ɗ, ƴ, ŋ, and ñ
• Type q for ɠ
• Type a vowel twice to obtain the diacritic to mark a long vowel (example : aa, ee)
• Type a consonant twice to obtain the diacritic to mark a geminated consonant (example : dd, dhdh)
• Type the apostrophe for the nasalisation mark (example : n'd, m'b, n'j, n'g)
• Type the apostrophe twice for the glottal stop (hamza)
• Type the exclamation mark !! twice and the question mark ?? twice for ¡ and ¿
