Click on the virāma, called halant in Gujarati ્ (diacritic in the center) to delete the inherent vowel a.
How to use
To type directly with the computer keyboard:
- Use the capital to type letters subscribed with a dot below: T, Th, D, Dh, N, L, S
- Type G (or ng) for ṅ & J for ñ
- Type z or ç or sh for ś
- Special characters : Type jJ for જ્ઞ and kS pour ક્ષ and tr for ત્ર
- Type aa, ii, uu, ee, oo (or A, I, U, E, O) for the long vowels: ā, ī, ū, ē, ō.
- Type -r and - ri for ri and rī
- Type M for ં (anusvara) & MM for ઁ (candra bindu)
- Type H for ઃ (visarga)
- Type ' (apostrophe) for ઽ (avagraha)
- Type two dots .. for the abbreviation sign ૰
- Type / or | for । (danda)
- Type x (unicode 200D, zwj, zero width joiner) to form a half consonant
- Type xx (unicode 200C, zwnj, zero width non-joiner) to prevent conjunct forms
