To type directly with the computer keyboard:
- Type a=, e=, o=, u= to get ā, ē, ō, ū
- Type = to add a diacritical mark: d= h= t= to get ḏ ḥ ṭ
- Type e== to get ĕ
- Type < et > to get ʿ and ʾ
- Type s== (or ^s ) for š
