To type directly with the computer keyboard:

• Use uppercase for the emphatic letters: H, S, D, T, Z
• To add a diacritical mark, type an apostrophe: t', H', d', s', S', T', g', k', h', n' (ou ñ) or 2 apostrophes: g'' (ou N)
• Type two hyphens -- for the hamzah
• Type = after a numeral to obtain the Arabic numeral: 1=, 2= and 4== for the Persian digit

The ancient Jawi script uses the Persian digit 4. The digit 5 is shaped like an inverted B; it is currently not available as a distinct character in Unicode.
