Northumbrian Runes
The runic alphabet is called futhorc (fuþorc), from its first six letters, just like the ABC or the abecedarium.
The Anglo-Saxon Futhorc is a runic alphabet used from the 5th to the 11th century in England and Frisia. It is an evolution of the Elder Futhark, extended from 24 to 33 characters to represent the specific sounds of Old English. This script was used for inscriptions on monuments and various artifacts before being gradually replaced by the Latin alphabet.
